So Ken Block and Travis Pastrana are responsible for some of the most interesting and anticipated Internet videos of 2009 in the form of the Gymkhana 2 video and Pastrana’s upcoming New Year’s Eve jump into the Long Beach harbor. But these two videos bring something new to the table.

The first is a highlight reel from the “Game of Suck” which apparently involves breaking a lot of fishbowls full of paintballs suspended on wooden stands. This one is classic Block/Pastrana: tire smoke, powerslides and close calls galore, all on open asphalt an in super-slow-motion.

The second video is a mind bending freakshow of hallucinogenic proportions. There’s really no explaining it; just go experience it if you want to see what it’s like to be the egg in the frying pan in those classic anti-drug commercials.

Whatever your speed, these two videos are a great way to ease into the holidays ahead of us, so kick your feet up and have a lazy Tuesday for the next 10 minutes or so. Just be sure you don’t have the volume up too loud.

While the other vehicles are certainly interesting, it’s this first-ever video footage of the production form of the CTS Coupe that’s most engaging, and though it’s trailed by a plume of salt and dust and filmed at night, there’s a lingering profile shot toward the end that reveals little has changed since the first shots of the production car surfaced as part of GM’s “viability presentation” back in February.

With the theme of the stages of a rocket in a “mission control” type setting, the three vehicles are presented as extensions of the same underlying theme of performance and styling. While our recent first drive of the 2010 Cadillac SRX Turbo might refute the performance angle on that particular vehicle, the “new Cadillac” styling born on the CTS and working its way throughout the rest of the range is readily apparent in all three vehicles.

The CTS Coupe has been confirmed for a May 2010 launch, and will be sold as a 2011 model-year car, sharing powertrains with the CTS Sport Wagon and Sedan, including a range of direct-inject V-6 engines. The higher-performance supercharged CTS-V Coupe will arrive along side the standard vehicle, and though output figures and powertrains haven’t been confirmed, it’s expected to get the same 556-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter LSA engine found in the CTS-V Sedan.

The standard P800 Nissan GT-R manages its name-giving 800 horsepower at the crank on standard 93-octane pump gas, but some owners and enthusiasts wanted to see what Switzer could do when higher octane race gas was used. Switzer was happy to oblige, as the video below demonstrates.

“We’ve bent a bit to the demands of those customers that are using their GTRs primarily as trackday cars, and developed a new ‘R’ package specifically for them,” said Tym Switzer.

Hitting a delivered 740 horespower and 715 pound-feet of torque at the wheels, the car earns its R850 name, with an estimated 850 horsepower at the crank based on a pretty standard assumption of 15% drivetrain loss.

Switzer explained: “We’re seeing consistent dyno results in excess of 740 all-wheel-horsepower and 715 pound-feet, pull after pull. Most everyone seems to agree that the GTR has about a 15% driveline loss. Based on that, this kit is making well over 850 horsepower and 820 pound-feet at the crank.”

But enough talk – check out the video to see for yourself what it sounds like when 850hp is uncorked in an enclosed space. Hint: it’s loud.

A new Nurburgring record has allegedly tumbled with a video showcasing the Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR circling the arduous track in just 7m 22.1s. While the source of the video is far from official, if the time proves accurate then this track-honed Viper is quicker around the track than the likes of the Nissan GT-R, which posted a time of 7m 29s, the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, which posted a time of 7m 26.4s, and even the Pagani Zonda F supercar, which has run an unofficial time of 7m 23s.
